Starbucks Coffee Taste Like Piss

Have you ever noticed it? Probably not. Starbucks Pikes Place Coffee has a pissing kind of

taste to it .. It has pissy tasty characterisitcs to it .. It does. Its the acdity in their coffee that gives a slight twing of pee-pee .. Most people don't releive it. Their taste buds might not be very discerning. But for those people with discerning palates, they no the taste, and that's what I've always felt about their coffee, I never really liked it much .. "Why the hell go there then?" you ask .. Well, I never really liked Starbucks that much and don't normally go to one by choice, and I hardly ever do .. I have some great local independent cafes in my neighborhood of New York's Greenwich Village, so I go to these places each and everyday. However, sometimes when I'm in midtown or other neighborhood other than my own and I need to get a coffee and get on mylaptop, there's always a Satrbucks. So on the rare occasions you might find me in a Satrbucks, it's purely out of necessity .. And I can remember back to the second or third, or was it the 4th cup of Starbucks Pike Place I had, I noticed that sort of Pissy taste. I don't really care for it, and if I'm in a Starbucks, I'm there more for a seat inside, and the Wifi than for the coffee which I don't really like that much. The Coffee at the two local cafes I frequent daily are superior in taste to anything Satrbucks could ever dream of .. I've been going to Caffe Dante on Macdougal Street in Greenwich Village for almost 30 years (Since 1985) .. Caffe Dante is the # 1 most authentic best Italian Coffee in all of New York. You can get New York's Best Espresso there, as well as a great Cappuccino or Caffe Latte ...

My other favorite cafe is a couple blocks away at Once Upon a Tart on Sullivan Street, where they make tasty muffins, cookies, and a Chocolate Pear Tart "To Die For." Here's where I drink my good ol Cup of Joe, aka American Coffee .. Once Upon a Tart serves New York's "Finest Coffee" from the towns single Best Coffee Roasters in Porto Rico Coffee Co. ... The Greenwich Village Italian Longo Family has been importing raw coffee beans and roasting them in The Village for more than 100 years, so these people know what they are doing .. And the prices are great. You can get a pound of fresh roast and ground coffee at the Porto Rico Shop on Bleecker Street for a mere $6.99 ... I've often wondered, why the hell would anyone in their right mind buy mass produced Satrbucks Coffee at almost double the price ($12.95) when they can get a pound at Porto Rico for much less? Some people are just dumb I guess. Dumbness? This would explain why millions would pay $5.50 daily for something from Starbucks when they can get better for less.

Anyway, the serve tasty Porto Rico / Peter's Blend at Once Upon a Tart .. This coffee is sublime, in its rich tasty coffee smoothness, and not a trace of the acidity that a cup of Starbucks Coffee has .. I drink it each and every day. The Porto Rico Cofee at The Tart that is. And I just love it. It's one of New York's best. Best cups of coffee, and boy I'm lucky I don't have to settle for Starbucks. Hardly ever that is.

NOTE: As of this writing (October 18, 2014) our beloved Once Upon a Tart is closed .. It closed 2 months ago after 23 years on Sullivan Street in Soho / Greenwich Village ... I've just hear some happy news ... Once Upon a Tart is scheduled to re-open on November 7, 2014. "Oh Happy Day." Please, I hope it's true. Me and its many loyal patrons. We just love the Tart and miss it dearly.

COFFEE & BANANA BREAKFAST in NY

My Perfect Breakfast? Well, my Perfect Breakfast is a bit unusual. When I get up in the morning, I turn on my Radio (1010 WINS NEWS) on my way to the bathroom. I listen to the first News of the day. Go to the living room, turn on the TV and watch it for 20-30 minutes or so. It helps me wake up. After watching a bit of TV I go and take a shower, dry-off, then brush my teeth, still no breakfast. I get dressed, fill my bad with my Mac Book Pro, battery charger and what-not. Now I'm getting ready for breakfast. I grab a Banana to eat along the way. Along the way to my local cafe where I will have Part II of my perfect breakfast. Part II ? A nice hot cup of American Coffee of course. Yes a good ol Cup of Joe and the greatest coffee of all, American Style .. Oh I know I'd get millions of complaints and disagreements on that one. Millions of French, Italians, and other Europeans would scoff, "Are You Kidding? American Coffee The Best?" Wel Yes! Yes for me and a couple hundred million Americans I'm sure .. The coffee at my local cafe is awesome. They buy their beans from New York's # 1 Best Coffee Roast, people who have been in business fro more than 100 years, not upstarts like Starbucks. Yes, No Starbucks like me, I'm "No Robot," not a "Follower" like most Americans. Starbucks? Way too commercial, and besides, I don't really like the taste. Starbucks has a sort of "Pissy" tatse to their coffee. I'm not trying to be funny or a Wiseguy here, I'm serious, Starbucks has a sort of acidic pissy kind of flavor to their Pikes Peak Coffee Roast. I noticed it a few years ago when because of the Wifi situation back then, I was going to Starbucks a bit here and there. I've never been a fan, but I do find them convenient at times. OK, back to my perfect breakfast. So I grab a Banana on my way out of the house. As I walk the 2 1/2 blocks to the cafe, I eat my banana. "No not that Banana you wiseguys!" I eat the Banana, the most perfect little package of fruit of all. Yes it comes in a beautiful lean yellow package that's just perfect. And inside, Bananas have numerous vitamins and nutrients and is a great source of fiber that we all need for good digestive affects. Bananas contain a good amount of antioxidants such as lutein, Vitamin B 6, some vitamin C, and of course it's one of the best sources of Potassium .. Yes a Banana is quite good for you. It's fairly tasty, inexpensive and easy to eat. So there you go part one of my perfect breakfast. Part II, The Perfect Breakfast, my perfect breakfast. Part 2, yes, back to my coffee. The coffee roast by Porto Rico Coffee Roasters who have been in business in New York's Greenwich Village since 1907 .. Owned and operated by the Longo Family for more than 100 years. They buy green coffee beans and roast them all themselves into perfect Italian Espresso, Pete's Blend (1/3 French Roast 2/3 American Roast) and various different blends roast from coffee beans from around the World; Brazil, Columbia, Sumatra, Africa, and Central America, Porto Rico is The Best. I often wonder why anyone would ever want to buy bags of the super commercial bags of Starbucks Coffee at $12.95 a pound when they cun buy the Superior Artisanal Small Batch Roast Coffee of Porto Rico for 30% less money? It just doesn't make sense. So my perfect breakfas? I eat my perfect Banana on the way to the cafe. I get to the cafe and order a large coffee (Porto Rico) from the wonderfully sweet counter-ladies at the cafe. I get my coffee, get my table, sit down and relax. Oh how I love it so. This wonderful morning ritual. I ate my banana, now I sit down at my favorite cafe, all comfy and cozy. I pull out my laptop, surf the net, I write, I sip my coffee, I relax, I'm in Heaven. That's my most perfect Breakfast, it's a Banana, a Cup of Joe (good ol American Coffee), my Mac, and a perfectly wonderful neighborhood cafe. "Oh the simple pleasures of life!"

Ramble On, Song of the Week!!! Without-A-Doubt one of Rocks All-Time Rockingest Rock Songs Ever, "Ramble On." This song Rocks like you can't believe! back in the Day when there was an abundance of Great Music being made by Hundreds of Great Artists, The 60's and 70's !!! Can someone tell us why there is "Barely Any Good Music" being made at all these Days!!! Just a bunch of a lot of Crap! Probably because the younger generation has such awful taste? Or is it just an Abundance of Lackluster Performers, or a Combination of both? I doubt seriously if there will be more than a handful of Musical Artist from the last 15 years or so who will Stand The Test of Time and be Loved 40, 50, 60, and 70 years down the road as artist like, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, led Zepplin, Elvis, Dianna Ross, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Stevie Wonder and on and on are doing and will do. The music of this Day and Age is quite literally Crap.

Someone please Kill Hip Hop the way you Killed Disco (which is Superior Music to Hip Hop Rap) so long ago. How much more of this Shit do we have to endure! Are there any Good Musical Artists out there at all? Please step forward and do your thing!!!

CORNER BISTRO Voted # 1 and New Yorks "BEST CHEESEBURGER"

Happy to see Corner Bistro's Burger can still make it to # 1 Best of New York list these days. I've been eating Cheeseburgers there since 1984. Yes 26 Years of Bistro Burgers. Back then, the Burger at the Corner Bistro was for Year-After-Year thee perennial favorite, # 1, Top, Best Burger in New York, rated by the Top and most Powerful food Authorities of the day, New York Magazine, The NY Times, Cue Magazine, The Post, The Village Voice, GQ, Bob Lape on 7's Eyewitness News, The Daily News, so on and so forth. Nine out of ten people, newspapers, and news agency's, The Bistro Burger was always "Tops," # 1. It no longer is. And it was tops for some 30 years. Quite a run. Sadly the quality of the Burger has gone down a bit, and there are numerous chemistry better, tastier Burgers in town. Shake Shack get my Vote for the Top, New York's best Burger, with Bills Bar and Burger and Peter Luger not far behind. But the Shake Shack Burger has all the proper elements that come together and make for perfect chemistry of, dear I say, "The Perfect Burger." Well if not the perfect Burger, New York's Best, or at least amongst the Best, everyone has their opinion. Some not as qualified as others. As I've been eating the East Coast's Best Burgers since childhood, and being a former Chef Culinary Professional, I have greater qualifications than most.
The Shake Shack Burgers elements that make it so good, are: Top Quality Beef, Just the right size and thickness, not too thin nor too thick, which unfortunately many think makes a burger is better, the thicker it is. Not so. A 6 oz., 3/4" Burger is Best and it has to be cooked on a Flat-Top Grill cooking in its own fat to qualify amongst the best. Cooking on a grated grill, just won't do. You'll often get terribly overcooked hard spots, losing all important beef fat for the burger to cook in. You'll need a good hamburger bun, toasted preferred, not too fancy, and a major No-No is the use of an English Muffin. Though i Love them for breakfast, English Muffins are a terrible choice, pairing to a Burger. the Burger has to be properly cooked
And one of thee most important rules to a great Burger, it can't cost more than $6.50, and about $4.50 is even better. The Shake Shake burger meets all these requirements, even exceeding them.
Back to the Bistro Burger. For nostalgias sake and Price to value ratio, combined with the great old New York Bar ambiance, The Bistro Burger always makes it on my Top 10 List. As the Post states, to be able to get a great burger for just $6.50 with Beers at $2.75 in one of New York's few remaining Bohemian Bars, and in Greenwich Village? A combination that just can't be beat.

"The SCENE" in The Lobby of The ACE HOTEL, New York

Yes, Makin the Scene at the Ace Hotel. Got my Coffee, "Stumptown" of Course, my Laptop, iPod Tkouch with Camera, my Cel, money in my pockets, I'm all set.
The "Scene" in the Lobby of The Ace Hotel, New York, 29th Street between Broadway and 5th Avenue. Great Lobby, the equivalent of the Alogonquin Hotel Lobby when it was front and center, New York's Literary Hotel in the days of Dolly Parker and days of yor.
Yes the "SCENE" in the Lobby of the Ace Hotel. It Rocks. Supposedly this is thee Rock-N-Roll Hotel, Home Base, Seattle.
This place is filled everyday, from Dawn to Dusk, with Writers, wound be writers, Screen Writers, Playrights, Web and Mobile Delepoers, tourists, and dear I say "Rock Stars." Don't know. All I can say is I've delt with quite a few Rock Stars in my days as Maitre'd Manager at the Once "Hottest Celebrity Spot in Town," Da Silvano's.... Yes it was, until Graydon Carter (who Frequented Da Silvano 5 or 6 Times a week) opened the
"Waverly Inn" and stole a Most of Silvan's immense Celebrity Crowd. Everyone went there: Movie Stars, Rock Stars, the Fashion Set (Designers & Models), the Movers and Shakers in Publishing, the Magazine Business, and on and on!
David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Keith Richards, Gwyneth Palthrow, Calvin Klein, Uma Thurma,and Richard Gere, to name just a few. Everyone went there.
Anyway ....
