This Painting Perfectly Typifies GROUNDED COFFEE

As There are Numerous NUDES hanging on The CAFE WALLS

Today is Thursday April 5th 2018, and my second time at Grounded Coffee Cafe on Jane Street in Greenwich Village, New York. My second trip in 2 days and certainly not my last, as for sure I will come here many more times. This is a great little cafe in a World were cafeshave become few and far between. Well in New York anyway. And to be more specific, in Manhattan and downtown in Greenwich Village, a place that should have many wonderful cafes in each and every part of this wonderful neighborhood that we call The Village.  For many years, the only cafes in the whole of Manhattan were more or less in just two spots. Those two placces being Little Italy and Greeniwch Village where you had Caffe Dante, Caffe Reggio , Caffe Borgia, Caffe Vivaldi and others. Did you notice that these places are caffes spelled with tow F's and not one as most people know as in cafe. Two ffs is the Italian way to spell Caffe and al these caffes mention were of the Italian Variety, not French and not American like this one, Grounded Coffee. Well it's not even called a cafe, but never-the-less it is, and a very good one at that. Grounded Coffee has eeverything a great cafe needs : # 1 they've got Great COFFEE which is and absolute must. Two, the place is comfortable and welcoming and has the kind of vibe a good cafe needs. Three, they place great Music, which helps to make the great vibe. Four they have cool people, both the Employees and the customers made of the usual cafe sprinkling of students, writers, artist, and ordinary people who love good Coffee or Tea, and being out in cafes, whether on their own ; reading, writing, surfing the Net, or simply just hanging out, relaxing and enjoying their cafe beverage of choice. And number 5, in this day and age (Now 2018) Free and good Wifi. Grounded Coffee has been open since 2004 and me being the Cafe-Hound that I am, I can't beleive it took me so long to find this place. I came across the place one night walking around the Village. I just peeked my head in to chceck it out to see if it was the kind of Cafe that I like and if I would want to come back. It was. It is. About a week ago I thought about it when I wanted to go to a cafe one night and didn't want to go to one of my usual places but was hankering for something new. I thought about Grounded and wanted to go there, but couldn't remember exactlt where it was and didn't feel like walking around aimlessly for 20 minutes or so, so I didn't even give it a shot. Two nights ago on my way over to Western Beef to buy some Sweet Italian Sausages for my Sauce, I just happened to pass by, a boy I was happy I did. I had plenty of time to get over to the grocery store so I decided to pop into Grounded and have a Coffee and finally check out the scene in this good old cafe. Well it was wonderful. The cafe was nice and relaxing, they played Great Music (Great CLASSIC ROCK), like The ROLLING STONES, and the vibe was nice. Speaking of the Vibe, it was the sort of Hippy-ish with its numerous Ceiling Fans, many potted and hanging Plants, Mix & Match Furniture, and Art Students Paintings hanging on the walls. It was Love at First Sight. I  ended up staying 2 and a half  hours before heading out to get my Sausage & Tomatoes  for the SAUCE So, anyway, that's it for now. Plain and simple, Grounded Coffee is a Great Cafe and a gift to the neighborhood of Greenwich Village and the People of NEW YORK and the many tourist who visit our Great City.

I Thank You, The PEOPLE of GROUNDED COFFEE

The Importance of Coffee

Americans consume 400 million cups of coffee per day, making US the leading consumer in the world. We are definitely huge on coffee. Where ever you go, Starbucks seems to be on every corner. The rich coffee smell that floats out of the shops invites all to walk in and take a break inside the comfy little store. Why is coffee so important to most people? Coffee is the fuel for people that are thirsty for an extra shove of energy. Coffee is the magic potion for all sleep- deprived students. Coffee is the peace that minds of disturbed people are in need of. To some, coffee is a drink of refreshment that their taste buds enjoy. To others, coffee is essential to life.

It doesn’t matter if you are a coffee lover or not. You have to agree that coffee is a pretty big part of our life. If coffee does not make you happy, it’s okay, because it makes someone around you happy, and that is a good enough reason to make you appreciate it. And with the skills coffee makers have today, I’m sure the day that they make a coffee that suits your taste is near.

Just smelling coffee could make you less stressed.

Researchers at the Seoul National University examined the brains of rats who were stressed with sleep deprivation and discovered that those who were exposed to coffee aromas experienced changes in brain proteins tied to that stress. Note, this aroma study doesn’t relate to stress by itself, only to the stress felt as a result of sleep deprivation. Now, we’re not entirely sure if this means you should keep a bag of roasted coffee beans on your nightstand every night, but feel free to try!

Coffee can make you feel happier.
A study done by the National Institute of Health found that those who drink four or more cups of coffee were about 10 percent less likely to be depressed than those who had never touched the java. And apparently it’s not because of the “caffeine high” — Coke can also give you a caffeine high, but it’s linked to depression. Study author, Honglei Chen, MD, PhD, told Prevention.com that the proposed reason coffee makes you feel good is because of those trusty antioxidants.
So be Happy and drink your daily Coffee, one of life's great simple pleasures. Enjoy!

MORNING COFFEE and Newspaper

My Sunday morn Coffee?  I love it so! There's nothing quite like it, and it's one of my best moments of the week, most times "the Best." Yes it is. And not for just me but millions I'm quite sure. If you work 6 days a week as I, or you work five, that Sunday morn coffee just can't be beat. Most might have it down at the kitchen table. The coffee pot brews, you retrieve the Sunday Paper and settle in. Settle in with that good ol friend, your morning cup of Joe. You chit chat with the husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, whoever, and you sip that good beloved Brew, your morning cup of Joe (coffee). Is it Brazilian, African, Colombian  Jamaican, or Sumatran, no matter, it's your favorite and it brings you so joy for just a pittance of a cost. Most of us drink good ol regular American Coffee, regular, Black, with milk and sugar, just milk no sugar, Milk, Cream, Half & Half, there's a number of ways to enjoy, your morning cup of coffee.
For me, my morning cup is never in my house as it is with most. No, I always go to the cafe for my beloved cup. I've been doing so for almost 30 years now. Nothing wrong with having it at home, but for me, I always have it out, at one of my local cafes. One is American (Regular Cup of Joe) the other Italian (Espresso or Cappuccino). For the past few days, I go to the American Bakery/Cafe more often. I usually have a little breakfast before I go, sans (without) coffee. The coffee is reserved for the cafe. I do this for two reasons, never having coffee at home. Number one, after I take a shower, I have my breakfast and put on my clothes, I just want to get out of the house and into the city, (New York). Two, I only have my coffee at the cafe because to me it makes it more special this way. And it's not just about the coffee, it's the whole total experience of it all. I have my coffee, yes, but I'm among others. There are always the counter girls at the cafe who are all quite lovely. A nice morning with my cup of Joe, perhaps a bit of chit-chat with the girls and they're always so sweet. Usually I have friends there, so there's a bit of conversation with them, sipping my regular coffee, "Milk No Sugar." I read, I write, I listen to the music, sip, love, and enjoy my coffee, that very simple and one of life's "Great Pleasures," the morning coffee. It cost very little, and especially if you compare it to the outrageous price of cocktails these days, that with the price of the drink $14-$17, and tip, can end up near $20.00 per. I love a good cocktail, but not at these prices. My morning cup of coffee has superior value compared to the current days cocktail prices in New York. It's sad really.
Yes, I usually see friends, have a good chat, then it's into the papers, The Times, Post, The Daily News, whatever is lying around the cafe. Guess what, it's free. I can go on my computer and surf the net. I'll get any news or info I could possibly want. If I don't like the music playing at the cafe, which is usually good, but can occasionally be quite bad, I'll just plug in my ear-plugs, go to Youtube, and watch a Rolling Stones video. Listen too, of course. Or I'll just plug into my iPod Touch and listen to my great Musical Library. No Crap Rap of course, just good ol Classic Rock, R&B, and "Frank" Sinatra that is!
I write, I read, I load up news from the Huffington Post on my iPod to read on the train (Subway) later, I see friends, sometime make new ones, sip my Coffee, I enjoy, that's my Sunday morning Coffee, or any day of the week for that matter. My morning Coffee, "I just Love It."
